Bulgarian-born Canadian fan of extreme sensations Ivan Kristoff, more famous as Spiderman has launched a Special Operations Squad (SOS) in Toronto, Canada.

This is a test project to create a Special Operations Squad in Bulgaria, Kristoff announced.

The main objective of the SOS is to enhance public safety through rescue and safety education, provide emergency response, and assist in accident assessment in inaccessible places. The primary function of the team is to minimize loss of life, injuries, and maximize rescue efficiency through innovation for work at heights.

During the Sofia mayor run, Kristoff met with General Boyko Borissov and presented to him project named "For Safer Sofia". The project draws the creation of an expert rescue team, thus turning Sofia into one of the safest cities in Europe. Borissov was then elected mayor of Sofia and stepped into office on Thursday.

Kristoff had announced his idea for setting up a High-rise Aerial Rescue Team in Bulgaria in March of 2003.
